I'm glad you're here! We love our Kymy's Dolman and Carlie's Dolman tops. Mine is a stretchy black and gold something-or-other knit - from the thrift store! I wish I knew what it was, because I'd love to have more of it! The fabric has a great drape, and I love how the dolman style top looks on me. It's not clingy, but not shapeless either. I made myself the standard, un-banded, un-ruched view, with a little added length (out of preference for long tops, not necessity!)

I sew for myself VERY rarely, but this is a top that I'll probably make and wear again and again. It's fast, easy, and doesn't require any "fussing" - which is my ideal wardrobe. I feel like this top in particular can be dressed up or down depending on fabrics used and accessories, and with 4 views it's extremely versatile.

Sam sat on Natalie's hand and only one of them is happy about that.
Sam is wearing a basic view Carlie top in a sweet panda print from Mabel Madison, and Natalie has a two-color banded top in polka dots from L'oiseau Fabrics. The girls have very different body types, and I really like that this pattern works for both of them. No alterations needed, just a different view!

These tops are super simple and fast - for all three of them, it took me barely three hours - that includes printing, taping, cutting patterns, cutting fabric, and sewing! I did the majority on a serger, which speeds up the process considerably, but you certainly don't need one to construct the tops.

I could have taken in the neck on Sam's top a bit, but I think she likes how it slouches on one shoulder. Plus it looks adorable! ;) Natalie loves polka dots and knits, and won't wear anything that isn't comfortable, so this top is a total winner in her book. And if she'll wear it, I'm happy!

Not only is there an AMAZING blog tour going on but 1 lucky winner that leaves a comment below between now and 8.3.15 will win a FREE EYMM pattern of their choice!!!!  Which one would you pick? Then hop on over to EYMM to check out the awesome SALE, and an even bigger celebration giveaway with over $1000 in prizes.  There will be 40 winners in all.

  7. This is the pattern I'd choose too. I like that you made yours a bit longer. I am tall and prefer to have my entire waist covered and the shirt anchored to my hips. How cute would that be if you made matching Dolman tops for you and your two blondies? I hope you do!
