Calico and Abilene!

Recently Momma Quail Patterns released the Calico Blouse and Abilene Skirt, two stunner patterns that compliment each other as a set, but are great additions to any girl's wardrobe on their own.

Both patterns have size ranges from 2-12. The blouse includes details like keyholes on the sleeves, a Mandarin collar, pretty curved shirttail hem, and a placket with a lace option. There are some perfect spots for a fun contrast fabric! The yoke is lined and encloses all the seams. I had a lot of fun sewing Calico - with all the little gathers on front, back, and sleeves, it's a sweet feminine version of  the Timmy Top!

Natalie picked out her own fabrics for the short sleeved version - she fell in love with the tiny hearts on the cotton voile, and the "dandelions" as she called them on the orange print. While it's a little busy, they look adorable together - she did a great job!

Abilene sports professional details like topstitched seams, kick vents in the back, a perfectly formed yoke, and both faux fly and functional zip options! It's a pattern worth taking your time on - I'm very impressed, and the finished product is so beautiful. We love all the pockets,'s the perfect little Western outfit for my Wyoming girl! :)

Right now there's a sale on both, either separately or as a set, in the Momma Quail Etsy shop - 20% off, no code needed!
